While online learning has been growing in popularity, with many educational institutions transitioning to this mode of delivery, there remains a lack of empirical insight into designing online courses that account for the right assessment. The study seeks to address this gap by investigating the challenges and strategies involved in assessing oracy skills online. The article highlights the multifaceted nature of oracy assessment, which involves assessing oral language and communicative competence. Additionally, assessing oracy skills requires flexibility, as students mature and move from one age period to another. The challenges of online assessment are also discussed, including academic dishonesty, which can hinder fair assessment. Plagiarism, identity verification, and cheating are all identified as key challenges in online assessment. Moreover, students may experience a lack of motivation, insufficient and unrealistic information, and inadequate communication with their instructors as additional barriers in online learning. In response to these challenges, the article outlines various strategies and technologies that can be employed to assess oracy skills online. These include using formative online tests, which provide quick feedback and help build confidence and maintain practice, as well as summative tests that stem from taking formative tests. Additionally, the article suggests that educators should focus on positive student perceptions and outcomes in online learning to develop better practices. Overall, this article highlights the importance of understanding the intricacies of assessing oracy skills in online courses and provides insights into the challenges and strategies involved in this process. By taking into account the various factors that can impact online assessment, educators can develop more effective and engaging online courses that promote student success.

The education policy, nevertheless, is aimed to achiving the highest level in quality of learning and teaching, as the technologies are changing and requiring relevant level of professional competency, particularly, highly developed 21st-century skills from the graduate students. The teachers, practitioners, and university educators should look for efficient technologies in online learning, saving the students' motivation, and developing the important skills necessary for future professional development. The issue of finding the efficient ways in online learning is becoming one of the leading priorities in organization of the teaching and learning process. This study is sought to analyze the modern research sources about the effective methods teaching online not only develop critical thinking competency as an essential skill of professional portrait, but also enhance students' motivation to study. It also investigates the theoretical background related to reflective practice in university training, after that, it investigates the possible ways of applying reflective practice strategies as a tool for critical thinking skills development. The analysis of recent studies revealed the most sought-after ways of reflective practice strategies which can be widely used online. The result of the analysis provided support in favour of wide-spread methods, which proved their application in various experiments and practical implications, for example, e-portfolios, reflective journals, blogging, MOOCs, which significantly increase students' critical thinking. The implication of this study may be seen in practical development of online courses and assignments for students in todays' university educational process.

It also analyzes the results of the distance work of undergraduate students on the educational interactive platform Pearson with the development of the primary language skills by modern technologies and methods. The latest global pandemic collapse has presented universities with many educational challenges. The current state of education has filtered the actual preparedness of the higher institutions for flexible adjustments in distance learning. The educators had to adapt to the calls of realia reshaping the educational programs to the distance courses if they hadn't done that before quickly. Although distance learning topic has taken the leading place in modern research, many universities struggled with the smooth transition of their students to the distance learning process. Distance learning has been just gaining momentum, and those universities who have developed facilities for online education have quickly managed to requirements of nowadays challenge. The research reveals the results of the questionnaire given to the first-year students of Physical Rehabilitation and Sports at Sumy State University to define their perception about English online course on Pearson interactive platform. The results in the study reveal the significant relationship between the up-to-date and high technological design and methods in online instructions and development students’ motivation and self-organization, which leads to better acquisition and results. Taking into account the principles of designing the motivational course like Pearson interactive platform, the university teachers may use this pattern for creating their online courses using critical thinking exercises, reflective practices, improved IT interface, variety of tasks, adding the competitive elements in the design, which in total will significantly increase the efficiency of distance learning.
