dc.descriptionThe article is devoted to the problem of barriers in communication (in English) of cadets of higher educational establishment of marine profile. The author notes that a single classification of barriers does not exist as such, because every scientist, when studying a particular problem, notes that there is the presence of barriers in it. Depending on the situation, scientists identify specific barriers that are common to them as being an obstacle to a particular activity or actions. The author of the article identifies barriers that arise in communication (including listening) such as: phonetic, semantic, stylistic, socio-cultural. One of the main causes of the phonetic barrier is the incorrect use of sounds (phonemes) in the speech activity, which can lead to misunderstanding and even misinterpretation of information on both sides as well. The semantic barrier is due to the fact that the participants of the communication use different meanings of words and the situation of their use. The stylistic barrier of understanding arises when the speaker's language style, the communication situation, the language style, the state of the listening person are inappropriate. The socio-cultural barrier of communication is related to differences of social, religious and other nature. The author offers practical recommendations concerning ways of overcoming barriers of foreign language communication for future marine specialists. Overcoming the phonetic barrier requires constant listening – watching films, listening to audio books. To overcome the semantic and stylistic barrier, one should study situational variants of the use of words, especially ambiguous ones, and it is also worth familiarizing with the peculiarities of the use of words in different styles of speech. Overcoming the socio-cultural barrier can occur only if there is knowledge of not only the language but also the cultural peculiarities of the nation, customs and norms in verbal and non-verbal communication.en
dc.description.abstractСтаття присвячена проблемі бар’єрів у спілкуванні іноземною (англійською) мовою курсантами вищого навчального закладу морського профілю. Авторка зазначає, що єдиної класифікації бар’єрів не існує як такої, оскільки кожен учений, вивчаючи ту або іншу проблему, відзначає в ній наявність бар’єрів. Залежно від ситуації вчені виділяють специфічні бар’єри, які загалом є перешкодою на шляху виконання певної діяльності або дій. Авторка статті визначає бар’єри, які виникають у спілкуванні (зокрема розумінням на слух), а саме: фонетичний, семантичний, стилістичний, соціально-культурний. Однією з основних причин виникнення фонетичного бар’єра є некоректне використання звуків (фонем) у потоці мовлення, яке може призвести до нерозуміння та навіть помилкової інтерпретації інформації з обох сторін. Семантичний бар’єр пов’язаний з тим, що учасники спілкування використовують різні значення слів та ситуативність їх використання. Стилістичний бар’єр розуміння виникає при невідповідності стилю мовця ситуації спілкування, стилю мови, стану слухача. Соціально-культурний бар’єр спілкування пов’язаний з відмінностями соціального, релігійного характеру тощо. Авторка статті надає практичні рекомендації щодо шляхів подолання бар’єрів іншомовного спілкування в майбутніх фахівців морської галузі. Для подолання фонетичного бар’єра необхідне постійне аудіювання – перегляд фільмів, прослуховування аудіокниг. Для подолання семантичного та стилістичного бар’єрів слід вивчити ситуативні варіанти слів, особливо багатозначних, також варто ознайомитися з особливостями вживання слів у різних стилях мовлення. Подолання соціально-культурного бар’єра може відбутися лише за наявності знань не тільки мови, а й культурних особливостей нації, звичаїв та норм у вербальній та невербальній комунікації. uk
