    Application of R Programming Language in Learning Statistics

    The study examines the problem of teaching statistics to future programmers. The theoretical content of teaching statistics has undergone significant development and requires a change in its focus on the practical field, even while studying at a higher education institution. It is determined that the improvement of teaching statistics to students requires moving from theoretical teaching methods to the practical solution of applied problems and shifting of emphasis from the process of statistical calculations to the analysis and results interpretation. The research allowed establishing that the training of statistics of future programmers should be based on the use of applied system of tasks developed with the help of real data sets obtained as a result of statistical research. Such tasks allow increasing the educational motivation of students in comparison with synthetic examples, which are usually used in the study of statistics. The research has analyzed the software for statistical data analysis as well as identified features of its application in the learning process. It is offered to use a specialized programming language R as the main learning tool.

    Design and implementation of an IoT-based system for intelligent crop health monitoring

    This paper presents the development of an intelligent IoT device for automated, real-time monitoring of crop conditions in agriculture. The proposed solution involves Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W hardware, multi-sensor modules for environmental data collection, NB-IoT for long-range wireless communication, and the YOLOv8 convolutional neural network for plant image analysis. The objective is to create a compact, low-cost, and energy-efficient solution that enables early detection of plant diseases and environmental stress in remote or infrastructure-poor agricultural areas. The developed system enables accurate identification of disease symptoms and damage on crop leaves based on visual and environmental input, facilitating timely intervention and reducing yield loss. The YOLOv8 model was adapted for resource-constrained edge deployment, trained on a custom dataset of strawberry leaf diseases, and integrated into the embedded device with high accuracy and low latency. System testing confirmed reliable performance under field conditions, with successful image classification and robust NB-IoT communication. The proposed solution is scalable and applicable to various crops and contributes to the practical implementation of precision agriculture and intelligent farming systems.

    Trello as a Tool for the Development of Lifelong Learning Skills of Senior Students

    The article focuses on the problem of development of the lifelong learning skills of senior students in secondary school of general education. The model of interaction between the subjects of learning in the Trello project management system is developed. The foreign literature learning environment in the Trello system is developed. The experience of using the Trello project management system in the process of teaching foreign literature in 10th and 11th grades is described. It has been found that according to the lifelong learning approach a person has to possess skills: goal setting, self-regulation, motivation, time management, self-directed learning, collaboration skills, and self-development. It was pointed out that there are common approaches to project management and educational process management. The use of online systems for collaborative work in the educational process in the secondary school of general education is suggested. Online systems for teamwork that support Kanban methodologies for project management have been analyzed. To confirm the effectiveness of the implementation of the Trello project management system as a tool for the development of lifelong learning skills of senior students, an experiment was conducted: criteria, indicators, levels, and the state of formation of lifelong learning skills of senior students were determined; statistical analysis of the results of the experiment was carried out. The effectiveness of the implementation of the Trello project management system as a tool of the formation of the lifelong learning skills of senior students has been experimentally proven. The study can be applied in educational institutions interested in using agile methods in teaching.
